The third version of the OnePlus Buds Pro are earbuds developed in collaboration with Dynaudio. They have been improved in many areas, especially in terms of sound quality, noise cancellation, battery life and the latest version of Bluetooth 5.4.
Design
The earplugs come in a luxurious oval box with a leather look and gold-colored frame in the cream version. There is a USB-C charging port on the front. A short cable with USB-A to USB-C is included. The IP55 earplugs have a striking chrome stem and are clearly marked L and R. They have silicone tips that fit into the ear cavity. There are three other sizes in the box for each ear type. The reset/pairing button is located on the right side. Google Fast Pair for quick and easy pairing with Android devices is supported and two simultaneous channels can be active. The HeyMelody app is required for operation with a telephone. Direct control is possible via tapping, pinching and swiping on the stems using commands defined and customizable via the app. Even the volume can now be adjusted via the stem.

Technology
The sound is produced by an 11mm woofer and 6mm tweater controlled by a twin set of tuned DACs for optimal sound. Hi-res audio is possible with the LHDC 5.0 codec. We mainly see this codec with Chinese telephone brands. The adaptive and intelligent noise suppression works up to 50 dB and has improved speech suppression. A nice feature is that spatial audio with head tracking is possible from any Android or iOS device, regardless of support, and experience 3D sound with precise instrument placement. To transmit clear call quality, 3 microphones and a bone guidance microphone are provided. An AI-Clear Call algorithm filters unwanted sounds.
Battery
The charging case with earbuds provides up to 43 hours of listening pleasure with all functions turned off. With everything on, including LHDC, that is about 21 hours. The earbuds offer from 10 (all off) to 5 hours (all on) capacity. The box is charged via USB-C or wirelessly, also via reverse wireless charging via a compatible phone.
Listening experience
The listening test, with Golden Sound, produces a clear and balanced result that exceeds the mid-range and will fascinate many users. Both highs and lows are well balanced with the midrange. The ANC works well, but does not always match the high-end models. Transparencymode has little effect. The speech sound is unremarkable and comes across clearly. They are earplugs with a very good price-performance ratio.
