The Standaard Note app from Apple has been provided with handy extras with every update in recent years. Thanks to the new functions, apps such as Evernote or Microsoft OneNote are no longer necessary for most macOS users. The memorandum app will offer enough functionality for ordinary users for making notes.
In certain situations it can be useful to open multiple notes at the same time or to always show a note in the foreground of the screen. This can be the case, for example, if you want to finish certain instructions or a list.
The notes app has the possible to open multiple notes at the same time and to show a prominent memorandum in the foreground. You just have to know how it works, we explain it to you below.
Open multiple notes on the screen
If you click on a note in the notes app, the content will appear in the window of the notes app. If you want to open the memorandum in your own window, that is also possible. All you have to do is double -click the memorandum in the overview. So instead of a single click, double -click the note after which it will be opened in its own window.
You can perform this promotion several times to open multiple notes in your own window.

Permanently place a note in the foreground
The moment you have opened a note in your own window as described above, then you also have the option of always showing this memorandum in the foreground. A handy option if you want to use the information on the note, you don’t always have to switch between windows. To fix the memorandum in the foreground, go through the following simple steps:
- Open the memorandum from the overview in the memorandum by double-clicking on it, the memorandum now appears in its own window.
- Go to the menu option in the menu bar Window And click on this.
- Select the option in the menu that appears now Keep at the top.

The memorandum will now be displayed in the foreground, even if you open windows from other apps. However, when you open an app in full screen display, the memorandum will not be shown in the foreground. In all other situations, the window will appear in the foreground.
If you no longer want to show the memorandum in the foreground, you can undo this again with the following steps:
- Go to the menu option in the menu bar Window And click on this.
- Select the option in the menu that appears now Keep at the top.
You can also choose to close the window in the foreground via the red ball, at the top left of the window. As a result, the memorandum is closed and the Keep at the top function disabled.
