With GPT-4o, OpenAI has released a new version of the popular chatbot. We’ll tell you what’s new!
OpenAI launches GPT-4o and an app for the Mac
There is a new version of ChatGPT. GPT-4o has a range of new options, but above all the AI is much faster. According to the makers, GPT-4o should now understand commands better and talking to the bot will become a lot more natural.
From now on you can also use the new version of the chatbot better as a kind of digital assistant. You can ask the AI questions and the chatbot will respond almost immediately. According to openAI, it is comparable to the reaction time of a real person. But it went further, because OpenAI also showed that GPT-4o can recognize emotions in a user’s voice.
The nice thing about this is that GPT-4o is available to everyone. So you do not need to have a paid plus account. There are a number of limitations on the free version. For example, you can send fewer prompts and you do not have access to the built-in version of DALL·E. Knowing more? Then read the GPT-4o’s blog continue for a moment.
In addition, an official Mac app from ChatGPT is now also available. If you’ve ever looked at the Mac Store, you’ve already found a lot of ChatGPT-like apps, but they’re not official apps. The real app will be available to Plus subscribers today (May 14). In the coming weeks, people with a free account will be able to get started with it.
The app is currently only available on the Mac. A version for Windows is also coming, but it won’t appear until later this year. ChatGPT has been available on the iPhone for some time.
