Do you regularly turn on Flitsmeister when you are on the road? Depending on your process, you will receive many reports when you are on the road. With these notifications, Flitsmeister warns you about speed cameras, route controls and traffic cameras. The latter in particular caused annoyances to many users, because there are many fixed traffic cameras in the Netherlands. These are not relevant to road users, but do ensure more reports in Flitsmeister.
The navigation service has therefore implemented a welcome change, because since 27 June, Flitsmeister has no longer given notifications at traffic cameras. That is good news, because you are now less likely to be distracted by Flitsmeister. You don’t have to be afraid of more fines, because traffic cameras are meant to monitor traffic. So they do not measure speed and cannot flash. The traffic cameras are therefore not very interesting for many road users, reason enough for Flitsmeister to eliminate the annoying function.
Flitsmeister eliminates function
Flitsmeister had added the traffic cameras to the application in April. The company regularly received reports from road users, who saw traffic cameras as speed cameras. To remove this confusion, Flitsmeister decided to add the traffic cameras to the application. The new function caused even more confusion, because road users received many more notifications from Flitsmeister from the traffic cameras.
Reports from the traffic cameras could be eliminated in Flitsmeister, but only in the paid version of the app. That means that many free users saw a huge increase in notifications from Flitsmeister. In the meantime, Flitsmeister has admitted that the function did not work optimally. The Dutch traffic cameras are therefore removed from Flitsmeister, they remain visible in Belgium.

Flitsmeister does not remove all Dutch traffic cameras from the application. Mobile traffic cameras are still displayed, because they are relevant to road users. In addition, you get a one -off report with newly placed traffic cameras, so it is clear that it is not a speed camera. By switching off the function, Flitsmeister has listened to the feedback from users, who suffered from the many notifications of the app.
Good news so if you use Flitsmeister regularly, because the navigation service stops the most annoying function in months. Since June 27, 2025, both free and paying users no longer have been notified of traffic cameras.
