Ora’s ‘electric Beetle’ in pictures

The Chinese manufacturer Ora has a special EV in the development rooms. The still unnamed newcomer can be seen clearly for the first time on a new set of design sketches!

Last week Techzle was able to show you the first teasers of a remarkable new model from the Chinese Ora. Ora, which is part of Great Wall, is working on an electric hatchback whose design is clearly inspired by that of the Volkswagen Beetle. Ora is now releasing digital drawings showing the interior of the stubborn newcomer in addition to the exterior.

While Ora’s upcoming newcomer isn’t an exact copy of the Volkswagen Beetle, it’s clear which car had a bunch of photos hanging above the drawing boards. The still unnamed car has oval rear lights that are placed on flared wheel arches protruding far from the car. The sloping rear looks like a nod to the Beetle of yesteryear, and things like the chrome-colored bumpers and the classic-looking side mirrors are also clear retro features.

The Ora interior, which may be given just as quirky a name as the Black Cat (R1), White Cat (R2) and Good Cat (Haomao), looks classic and modern. For example, there is a large digital display centrally on the dashboard and a digital instrumentation is located behind the classic-looking steering wheel, complete with half horn ring. On the middentunnel we find, among other things, a round rotary knob to control the infotainment system. A vase is missing, but the Ora does have various prints of plates and flowers. Ora is likely to release more about his stubborn newbie soon. We certainly did not want to withhold these digital drawings from you.
