Good news for anyone who doesn’t have a credit card linked to their Apple ID. From now on you can pay with PayPal in the App Store, iTunes and Apple Music.
Apple ID PayPal lets you pay in the App Store
Buying iTunes credit cards to buy an app or album is a thing of the past today. Thanks to Apple ID PayPal support, a credit card is less necessary as an Apple user. With PayPal you can do everything you can now do with credit cards. From paying for apps to renewing your iCloud and Apple Music subscription.
Adding your PayPal account is also very easy. On your computer, go to appleid.apple.com, but you can also add the new payment method on your iPhone. We show you how in the steps below.
This is how you set up PayPal for your Apple ID
- Open the Settings app;
- Go to ‘iTunes and App Store’;
- Choose ‘Apple ID’;
- Tap on ‘Show Apple ID’;
- Select ‘Payment Information’;
- Tap on PayPal and ‘Log in to PayPal’;
- Choose the account you want to link to your Apple ID;
Once you have set this option, all your purchases will be billed via PayPal from now on. As a result, iDeal in the App Store is finally possible with a detour, because PayPal does support iDeal to put extra money on your account.
PayPal support is still rolling out at the time of writing. If the option doesn’t appear on your iPhone yet, you can go to Apple’s website with your Apple ID at this link. There, the option would already be available to more people.
