Some Philips TVs will receive the new Titan OS, a smart TV platform, in 2024. Licensee TP Vision is entering into a strategic partnership with Titan OS, in which it also has several interests.

TP Vision has been marketing the well-known Philips TVs for many years, and yesterday the new Philips OLED+959 and OLED+909 were announced. For the time being, they are still provided with the well-known Google TV and Android TV. Many other Philips TVs, such as everything below the 8 series, will be equipped with Titan OS in 2024.

Titan OS
The operating system should give consumers a personalized and improved smart TV experience, according to TP Vision. Content must be easy to find, learn from viewing behavior and offer additional options in terms of integration into the smart home environment and connectivity.
With this independent operating system, Titan OS focuses on the 40% of the TV market that does not have its own operating system. So it wants to be an independent European operating system for smart TVs, but TP Vision does have interests in Titan OS. TP Vision now still has to pay for the use of Google TV and Android TV and by choosing Titan OS, they also use Titan’s advertising division. Titan OS SL (Titan OS) describes itself as a technology, entertainment and advertising company,

The new operating system will be integrated into Philips and AOC TVs in Europe and Latin America. First in Europe are the PML9009 mini LED set (The Xtra – Ambilight TV) and the PUS8909 premium LED model (The One – Ambilight TV); sometime before the summer.

Content
Titan OS will give TV owners access to an extensive list of premium applications, channels (including FAST) and app content. There are agreements with global and local partners including Netflix, Prime Video, Youtube, Disney+, Pluto TV, DAZN and many others.
