Photo worth seeing: “Canvas Legends”: The picture gallery down to the smallest detail and with new AI perspectives

With the “Canvas Legends” project, the Gemäldegalerie of the National Museums in Berlin and Google Arts & Culture are presenting a comprehensive digital catalog of works from the Gemäldegalerie. More than 1,100 masterpieces from the collection – from Botticelli and Dürer to Caravaggio, Rembrandt and Rubens – are now on display new topic page and available in the Google Arts & Culture app. The project sees itself as an invitation to a global audience to digitally rediscover the relevance and expressiveness of the Old Masters. At the same time, it offers researchers the opportunity to use the recordings for specific questions.
