Pinning a WhatsApp conversation: this is how you do it

WhatsApp lets you pin chat messages from now on, so that important information is always visible. In addition, the chat app makes sending photos and documents easier.

WhatsApp version 2.17.40 implements a number of useful improvements. In addition, the app is getting ready for an upcoming update. To keep things clear, we will discuss the new functions separately below.

Pinning a WhatsApp conversation: this is how you do it

This way you can pin a WhatsApp conversation

WhatsApp always puts the conversations at the top where you last received a message. However, the most active chats are not always the most important. That’s why you can now pin a WhatsApp conversation to the top of your screen. This way, it also remains in the picture if you send and receive fewer messages in it.

You do this by swiping from left to right over the conversation in the chat overview. Then choose ‘Lock’. You can do this with multiple conversations, for example with your two or four favorite groups. You can release chats in the same way. Every pinned conversation has a pushpin icon.

Send all document types

Android users have been able to do this for a while, but as of today you can also send all document types on the iPhone. This works exactly as you have always sent files in WhatsApp. You tap the plus sign and choose ‘Document’. You can then choose any file and send it to someone.

Finally, WhatsApp makes it easier to forward or delete multiple photos. Once you receive multiple photos, you can press and hold to send them all at once to someone else or delete them. Today it was also discovered that WhatsApp is working on a brand new video player for YouTube. It has a picture-in-picture view, so you no longer need to download a YouTube app to use it.
