Pirelli has expanded his range with the Diablo PowerCruiser, a band that, according to the Italians, combines the sporty soul of the Diablo family with the custom spirit. The new band is intended for custom-touring engines, especially the most sporting, which are often converted into a performance dredger, club model or power cruiser.
The Diablo PowerCruiser is part of the Diablo family because it embodies Pirelli’s sporting DNA, this time applied to custom engines. According to Pirelli, he was created to meet the needs of these motorcycles, which need ties that offer high performance and sportiness, with the aim of becoming the new reference in his segment for grip and handling, even in wet conditions.
The Diablo PowerCruiser Gamma is very varied both in terms of construction technology and dimensions, and includes both radial and conventional specifications with dimensions ranging from 100 mm to 260 mm. In order to obtain a custom-touring band that is very easy to handle and offers a high grip that is resistant to a higher dynamic load, both in tilts and with brakes and acceleration, Pirelli’s experience has contributed to the development of the structures.
The structures adjust the stiffness based on the driving style: in tour pace, and therefore with the lowest level of distortion and load, the band offers a comfortable, flexible and predictable ride according to Pirelli. When the driving style is sportier, the feedback increases as the distortion of the tire increases, in order to guarantee a larger steering precision, more lateral support and better control.
This behavior represents the perfect balance between comfort and support and offers drivers both confidence during relaxed journeys and sporting driving. The radial sizes are equipped with a 0-degree steel belt that contributes to a well-controlled distortion of the contact surface, resulting in a better conformity of the tire to all slope corners and a better distribution of the voltage on the contact surface, which offers a major advantage in the field of grip and regular wear.
With regard to the rubber composition, the radial rear tires have a double rubber composition and are enriched with Silica, in combination with the Cap & Base technology that offers a softer rubber composition on the sides, which benefits the grip under sloping angle, with a harder rubber composition in the middle for longer lifetime.
According to Pirelli, the Cap & Base Compound mixture offers “great performance” during sporting driving, while the use of Silica ensures a wider work temperature, which promotes a high grip level, even in wet conditions, and consistent performance. A quick warming and grip, even on wet road surface, are achieved thanks to an innovative and specially developed mix of resins, plasticizers and silica in the composition of the rubber compositions.
With regard to design and finish, the new Diablo PowerCruiser has all the measures that Pirelli applies for all newest products that are marketed. The Flash icon and the Diablo logo symbolize the identity and heritage of the product family to which this band belongs. In addition, there is, also on the side wall, the “plunga” form that should further emphasize the dedication of the brand of excellence and craftsmanship.
