Honda has unveiled a new electrified version of the CR-V on the Auto China show floor. It is the CR-V Sport Turbo e +, a brand new plug-in hybrid!
In the Netherlands you can get the CR-V with a regular petrol engine, a 1.5 that in the form of the CR-V Hybrid also has a hybrid version with a 2.0 under the hood as a brother. There has never been a plug-in hybrid variant of Honda’s SUV. That is changing, at least in China. Honda presented the CR-V Sport Turbo e + during Auto China, a plug-in hybrid CR-V!
Honda has hardly released any information about the powertrain of the plug-in hybrid CR-V that will hit the Chinese market in early 2021. We do know that the CR-V Sport Turbo e + has a 145 hp 2.0, a four-cylinder that, just like in the CR-V Hybrid, which is well-known here, delivers 145 hp. The machine is linked to a 92 hp electric motor. On the outside, the CR-V Sport Turbo e + distinguishes itself from the regular CR-Vs, among other things with its modified grille and PHEV logos. Honda says it cannot say anything about the possible arrival of the CR-V Plug-in to the Netherlands.
Fun fact: Honda sells a second CR-V in China in addition to the model known here. That car is called Breeze, and it is produced by the joint venture GAC Honda. The CR-V we know is built in China by Dongfeng Honda. The two SUVs are technically the same, but differ from each other in terms of design.
