Polestar shows mysterious newcomer

Polestar puts the already well-known two models next to three newcomers hidden under a rug. We already know two of those future Polestars, but there is also an as yet unknown model. An SUV-style with a sloping roofline at the rear.

Polestar draws attention to its IPO with two special photos. In the above shot we see three models completely hidden under a rug. In another photo, these three are in slightly different order next to the Polestar 1 and Polestar 2. To the right of the 2 is the SUV that we now know will be the Polestar 3. In addition, however, we see a model that has not been seen before. It is a car that is somewhat reminiscent of the 2 at the back, but clearly has more of an SUV-like posture. In addition, this Polestar has a much sharper downward sloping nose than the 2 and a gradually sloping roofline at the rear. A ‘coupe SUV’, if you will.

If Polestar ranks the cars above, that newcomer will be the Polestar 4. Like the 3, probably an SUV about the size of the Volvo XC60. On the far right we see – if we keep counting the model names – the Polestar 5, which is still referred to as Polestar Precept for the time being.

The new trio will probably be enthroned on the SPA2 platform, which Volvo will also use. This should eventually allow a range of up to 1,000 km and the manufacturer is also working on solid-state batteries. The new Polestar models are almost certainly suffused with design details from the Precept Concept, further increasing the distance from Volvo in appearance.

Polestar calls the trio the ‘line up of 2024’. The Polestar 3 will arrive next year, the Precept (probably called Polestar 5) will probably follow in 2023 and the 4 will also be added by 2024 at the latest.
