Porsche also stops production

The list of car manufacturers that temporarily shut down their production to prevent further spread of the corona virus is getting longer again. Porsche also indicates that it will temporarily close its production facilities.

Porsche today announces that from next Saturday (March 21) production will stop at its production sites in Leipzig, Germany and Zuffenhausen. For a period of at least two weeks, no new Porsches will roll out of the production facilities located there.

Porsche is building the Panamera, Panamera Sport Turismo and the Porsche Macan in Leipzig. The body of the Bentley Continental GT is also manufactured there, something that of course also has consequences for the production of that coupé. In Zuffenhausen normally see the Taycan, 911 and 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman.

The factory in Bratislava, Slovakia, where the Cayenne is produced, will close its doors until April 1, just like the factory in Osnabrück, Germany. In Osnabrück, the Boxster and the Cayman are also being built in addition to the Cayenne.
