Porsche is expanding individualization options

Porsche is expanding its already unprecedentedly extensive options program with all kinds of possibilities to spice up your new or older Porsche even more. For example, the ‘Sonderwunsch’ program returns.

In 2021, people are of course more unique than ever before, at least in their own words. At Porsche they like to make a profit for that. This has been done for years with the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur offer, but now the next gear is being shifted. Porsche buyers are offered numerous options to flavor the car, regardless of the type and even regardless of the year of manufacture.

Porsche also focuses specifically on buyers of older models, which in this case are even highlighted very specifically. Take the Carrera GT from the above photos, for example, which was finished in a color combination that is as unique as it is taste-sensitive. However, you don’t have to own a hypercar to qualify for such a treatment, because Porsche Classic is also lovingly tackling a 996-911 or an early Boxster.

Anyone who thinks that a classic Porsche is by definition a 356 or old 911 should pay more attention anyway, because the first generation Cayenne is simply considered Classic by Porsche. This entails a very broad view of decoration and accessories, because suddenly themes such as ‘off-roading’ and ‘outdoor’ are also important.

Signature

For new cars, there will be even more options when it comes to customer-specific color or material requirements, which of course are immediately included in the production process. Extensive individualization options such as applying or engraving a signature or logo are also possible.

To reinforce the new offer, the term ‘Sonderwunsch’ (special request) is being dusted at least in Germany, a name that Porsche already used in the 1970s for this type of practice. The new options are in addition to the many hundreds of possibilities that Exclusive Manufaktur already offered and are in many cases simply in the configurator.

A quarter of the sales

By the way, don’t think that a program like this is only for a very select group of customers: Porsche reports that roughly a quarter of 911s sold worldwide will see the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur workshop in Zuffenhausen. With the other models that share is undoubtedly lower, but still.
