A Czech millionaire recently tried the top speed of his Bugatti Chiron on the autobahn. He reached 417 km/h. Strictly speaking, it is allowed, because there is no speed limit on parts of the German highway, but the police still want to prosecute the man. He could face two years in prison.
Radim Passer – a Czech millionaire with a penchant for fast cars – thought it was a good idea to test the top speed of his Bugatti Chiron on the German autobahn. On an early Sunday morning on the A2 between Berlin and Hanover, he reached a maximum speed of 417 km/h.

Under the Youtube video that Passer published in early January, he wrote that safety was a priority. “This part of the A2 is straight and 10 kilometers long, with three lanes and a good overview.” Just to be sure, Passer also thanks God for the safety and the good conditions to reach 417 km/h.
German government finds Czech millionaire’s behavior irresponsible
But the German government believes that the Czech has endangered the safety of other road users. The video shows the Bugatti overtaking other cars at extremely high speed. In a statement, the Ministry of Transport points to the German traffic law, which states that road users must not behave in such a way that they are a danger to others.
Police want to prosecute Bugatti driver for participating in illegal street race
The police now want to prosecute Passer for participating in an illegal street race. A spokesman confirmed to British newspaper The Sun that prosecutors are preparing a case against Passer. If convicted, he could face a maximum sentence of two years in prison.
