Renewed Dual Motor All Wheel Drive versions to follow in 2023
Finally it’s clear when you can expect the crazy powerful Tesla’s Model S Plaid and Model X Plaid in Europe. In addition, the current prices of those 1,020 hp top versions are also known.
In early 2021, Tesla gave both the Model S and Model X a major update. The two oldest Tesla models were extensively overhauled, both optically and technically. The Model S received a revised front and both electric models were given a thoroughly renewed interior. From now on, this will include a horizontal instead of vertically oriented infotainment screen and whoever wants it can have a yoke-order steering wheel with an open top. The update round also brought fierce Plaid versions to the Model S and Model X. Initially, they would come to the Netherlands in the first quarter of this year. That didn’t work out, but now we know when they will finally set foot in Europe.
The first copies of the Tesla Model S Plaid and Model X Plaid will be delivered in the last quarter of 2022. On the hunt for the less scruffy but still bloody fast, redesigned Model S and Model X Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive? Then you have to be patient a little longer. The first copies are expected in Europe in 2023.
Prices Tesla Model S and Model X Plaid
The Tesla Model S and Model X Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive are therefore not yet available to order. Tesla is already opening the order books for the 1,020 hp Model S and Model X Plaid. For the Tesla Model S Plaid you pay at least €139,990. You will lose €143,990 for the Tesla Model X Plaid. Previously, the Model S Plaid in the Netherlands would cost €119,990, although that price was later increased to €131,000. So about 9 mille has been added. The Model X Plaid was initially on the Dutch order list for €121,000.
Specifications Tesla Model S and Model X Plaid
Both the Tesla Model S Plaid and Model X Plaid have three electric motors that together produce 1,020 horsepower, with carbon fiber rotors. With that excess of power, the Model S Plaid sprints to 100 km/h in just 2.1 seconds. Its top speed is – certainly for an electric car – at least as bizarre 322 km/h. On a full battery, the Model S Plaid can travel up to 600 kilometers. The Tesla Model X Plaid hits 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 262 km/h. The Model X Plaid has a range of up to 528 kilometers.
The Tesla Model X Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive zooms to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and has a driving range of 560 kilometers. The Model S Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive takes 3.2 seconds to stomp to 100 km/h and has an estimated WLTP range of 634 kilometers.
Here you can read more about the renewed Tesla Model S, including its improved infotainment system. More information about the similarly redesigned Tesla Model X can be found here.
