The prices of the all-new Hyundai Tucson are known. The always-electrified SUV has a starting price of € 34,995. The new Tucson will be at Dutch dealers from mid-January.
The new fourth generation Tucson is an important model for Hyundai. The Tucson fights in a fiercely contested segment and is also the first Tucson to be extensively electrified. Although the previous generation Tucson was already available with mild hybrid diesel engines, the new Hyundai Tucson is the first in its bloodline that is also available as a regular Hybrid and as a Plug-in Hybrid. Mild-Hybrid
The new Hyundai Tucson has a starting price of € 34,995 in the Netherlands. That amount is for a manual Tucson with 160 hp mild hybrid 1.6 T-GDI. The Tucson with this 1.6 T-GDI is always a front-wheel drive, but in addition to the manual gearbox, it is also available with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The manual is Hyundai’s iMT transmission, a transmission that disconnects from the engine as soon as you let go of the throttle. The version with automatic transmission costs at least € 36,995. The starting prices mentioned are for the i-Motion version, the basic flavor that comes standard with things like 17-inch light metal, cruise control, a reversing camera and a fully digital instrumentation.
Hyundai Tucson
With less than 35 mille, the starting price of the new Tucson is slightly above that of the previous generation Tucson. But please note: the entry-level version of the previous Tucson had an atmospheric 1.6 GDI under the hood. The previous 1.6 T-GDI, which admittedly had 177 hp, was from around € 40,000 in Hyundai’s medium-sized SUV, a big difference.
Hybrid
More electrification comes in the form of a full hybrid version of the new Hyundai Tucson. The powertrain of this 230 hp Tucson Hybrid consists of the well-known 1.6 T-GDI and a 60 hp electric motor. The Hybrid has a battery pack with a capacity of 1.49 kWh. Its starting price: € 37,995 for the i-Motion version. The hybrid Tucson is always equipped with a six-speed automatic and is always a front-wheel drive.
Plug-in Hybrid
The Hyundai Tucson with the most electric power is the four-wheel drive Tucson Plug-in Hybrid. This SUV, like the Tucson Hybrid, always equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission, has a starting price of € 43,995. With the Plug-in Hybrid, the entry-level version is the Comfort, a version that is a step above the i-Motion. The Plug-in Hybrid’s powertrain consists of the 1.6 T-GDI and a 91 hp electric motor. The system power is 265 hp and 350 Nm. The battery pack has a capacity of 13.8 kWh and you should be able to travel more than 55 kilometers electrically.
