The new Mercedes-Benz C-class has a Dutch price. The starting price is still just under 50 grand and of course above that of the old C.
Mercedes-Benz Netherlands apparently thought this was a good Friday to throw the configurator of the new C-class online. There is not yet an official price list, but a lot can be deduced from the online composition tool.
The most affordable C-Class for the time being is the C180 Business Line, which, like all other versions of the C-Class, is equipped with mild hybrid technology. The 170 hp sedan costs € 48,280. That is considerably more than the € 41,147 that Mercedes asked for an ‘old’ C180 Business Solution, but the versions are not exactly one-to-one comparable.
The next step on the motor ladder is the C200 with 204 hp, which is initially designed as a minimum ‘Launch Edition – Business Line’. At € 49,985, the price difference with the basic C180 is limited.
4Matic
The C200 is also available with four-wheel drive and, as the C200 4Matic, costs at least € 55,881 for the time being. We find even more engine power – 258 hp – with the C300, of which the cheapest version has to yield € 63,020 at the introduction. Then the car looks thick, because this is immediately an AMG Line. This type is also available as 4Matic, for € 67,132.
Dieseling is also still possible at Mercedes-Benz. That is a pricey joke, because the entry-level C200d is not yet provided with a price tag. We do see the 265 hp C300d, which costs € 69,307 without options.
Of course, other trim levels are also available. Anyone who wants AMG Line finery will spend at least € 54,363 for a C180. The more luxury-oriented Luxury Line costs € 51,096 with the basic motorization.
Estate
The C-class Estate can also be put together online. The C180 is missing in the list for the time being, so the party starts at the C200 Launch Edition Business Line. At € 52,229, it is € 2,244 more expensive than the sedan of the same name. The price difference also seems to operate in other versions in those regions, because a C300d Estate is also more than two grand more expensive than its counterpart at € 71,406.
This post does not yet reflect the full C-Class equipment and price list for the simple reason that not all information has been released yet. If that happens we will of course let you know, but until then it can assemble a C-class itself here and here.
