Often more expensive but more complete

Peugeot recently pulled the curtain on the facelifted Peugeot 208 and e-208, its success number in the B segment. Now the French also hang price tags on the renewed line-up. What seems? The petrol 208 is available from €24,050, the electric e-208 will cost you at least €35,050.
The Peugeot 208 is quite a success both conventionally powered and electrically. In recent years, it has been in the lead several times in various sales statistics and in 2022 it was even the most registered car in the Netherlands. That tastes like more, so it’s high time for a facelift to keep the model up to standard. The facelifted Peugeot 208 was recently presented by the brand and if you want to know what has changed, then take a look at this article.
The updated Peugeot 208 is available with three different petrol and two different electric powertrains, including Stellantis’ more efficient 156 hp variant with a 51 kWh battery pack (400 km WLTP). However, the ‘older’ package, with a 50 kWh battery and a 136 hp electric motor (362 km WLTP), is also available. Prefer not to plug in? Then there is still the PureTech 75 or PureTech 100 powertrain with a three-cylinder and manual gearbox, or you can choose from new mild hybrid powertrains with 100 or 136 hp. The latter replaces the PureTech 130 powertrain and both hybrids are linked to an automatic transmission. The PureTech powertrains are only available in combination with a 5- and 6-speed manual gearbox.
Peugeot indicates that the purchase prices of the new 208 are generally slightly higher, but that the standard equipment is also more spacious. From now on you will find a 10-inch infotainment screen in every variant. It remains to be seen how the trim levels look exactly, but it is already known that from now on there are only three different ones: the Active, Allure and GT. In addition, there is a temporary introduction version of the e-208: the E-Style. The latter is only available with the less powerful electric motor and is based on the Allure version, which has then been expanded with a navigation function for the infotainment system. That’s all, but it is nicely cheaper than a regular Allure.
The table below shows the prices for all versions and motorisations of the renewed Peugeot 208. For a number of them, the prices that applied prior to the facelift are listed for comparison.
