Apple Intelligence is now finally available in the Netherlands. But what else is new in the public beta of iOS 26.1?
Public Beta iOS 26.1 is out: You can now try Apple Intelligence in Dutch
After the beta for developers, the public beta of iOS 26.1 is now also available. With this, many AI functions finally come to your iPhone.
However, there is more in this update, because in addition, the new function will receive live translation support for more languages. This allows you to have a conversation with recent AirPods with someone who does not speak your language. The position was introduced during the Apple event in September, but the number of languages available was rather scanty. Now that has become a lot more. For example, there is now support for Japanese and Korean, among others.
Unfortunately, Live Translation is one of the functions that you can’t use in Dutch. You have to put the region and the language of your iPhone in English for this. In addition, you must have AirPods 4, AirPods Pro 2 or AirPods Pro 3 and install the beta software for your AirPods.
Furthermore, there are no striking changes in this update. Some mistakes are removed from the software here and there, but that is the case with every update.
This way you can install the public beta of iOS 26.1 on your iPhone
Installing the public beta is not difficult. Make sure you make a backup of your iPhone in advance. Open the ‘settings’ and tap your iCloud account. Choose ‘Backup in iCloud’ and ‘make now backup’.
Then you can install the public beta 1 of iOS 26.1 in the way below:
- Open the ‘settings’ on your iPhone;
- Go to ‘General’ and tap ‘Software update’;
- Choose ‘iOS 26 Public Beta’ under ‘Beta updates’;
- Tap ‘previous’ (the arrow to the left);
- Install the update.
These iPhones have support for Apple Intelligence
Apple Intelligence only comes to iPhones that have an A17 Pro chip or newer. That means that you need at least an iPhone 15 Pro to use Apple Intelligence. These iPhones have support for Apple Intelligence:

- iPhone 16
- iPhone 16 Plus
- iPhone 16 Pro
