The 16th has made the iPhone line-up a bit easier. We tell you which iPhone is best buying, depending on your budget.
This is the iPhone that you can best buy now
When Apple releases a new iPhone series, this causes considerable changes and the prices of all previous models shift. In the spring of 2025, another introduction influenced the product range in a different way. Apple introduced the iPhone 16th and thus abolished the iPhone SE line.
The result is that it has become more difficult for people who are looking for a cheap iPhone, because the prices of the different versions are now much closer together. As a result, the question is which iPhone is best buying, depending on your budget and the functions that you cannot miss.
A price range of more than 1000 euros
The iPhone line-up from Apple starts at € 639 for the cheapest and rises to € 1,699 for the most expensive. The cheapest model is the latest iPhone 16th, while the most expensive configuration is the iPhone 16 Pro Max with the most storage space.
There is a price range of more than 1000 euros between the cheapest and the most expensive models. When the iPhone 15 line-up was released, that price difference was a bit bigger because of the cheaper iPhone SE of the third generation that is no longer available.

Storage space
The vast majority of the models in this buying advice belong to the iPhone 16 series, with two exceptions: the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. With the now more expensive entry model iPhone 16th in the list, the iPhone 15 offers more variations of functions for your budget. Because the prices at the bottom are now closer together, choosing only has become a bit more difficult based on budget.
An important point when you are going to purchase a new iPhone is the storage capacity. Depending on the model you usually have three or four storage options that you can choose from. For most models that is a choice between 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB storage space. An exception is the iPhone 16 Pro, which also has a 1 TB option. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is also available with 1 TB but the option with 128 GB is missing.
Under 1000 euros
The cheapest model is the iPhone 16th with 128 GB storage space for a price of € 639. For that you get the A18 chip, a 48MP Fusion camera with 2x zoom without loss of quality and a battery with which you can play no less than 26 hours of videos.
You get a 6.1-inch screen with thin edges and Face ID, which is a huge step forward compared to the iPhone SE. But you have to live with a notch instead of a Dynamic Island.
For a few tens more you can also buy an iPhone 15 (not available). There is the older A16 chip in it. The performance is therefore slightly lower and there is no support for Apple Intelligence, but you will get two physical cameras, including an ultra -wide corner camera. Yet the iPhone 16th is probably the better of the two.

Around 800 euros
If you are willing to spend around 800 euros, you could opt for the 256 GB versions of the iPhone 16th and iPhone 15. For that money you also have an iPhone 15 Plus, but you could also buy an iPhone 16 for it.
The iPhone 16 has a 6.1-inch screen, a graphic slightly better A18 variant, dual cameras including ultra wide angle, the camera control and Magsafe. The battery is slightly less than that of the 16th at 22 hours, but it is still the best purchase of the group for this price.
