Put photos on iPad via OneDrive

Easily transfer photos from computer to iPad or iPhone via OneDrive.

OneDrive is Microsoft’s online storage service. It is in Dutch and offers free (but also paid) storage space. You can store photos in it to view on all your devices, such as the computer and iPad. There are also other options. All options are listed in the article ‘Put photos on the iPad’.

OneDrive has a program for the PC. This gives OneDrive its own folder in File Explorer. If you store files there, they will be easy to access on other devices from now on. On the iPad, for example, you can view them via the free OneDrive app.

Download and install OneDrive on your computer by following the instructions in the “OneDrive” article. Also put the One Drive app on the iPad. The app is available for free in the App Store. If necessary, read the tip ‘Download an app from the App Store’. You use the same login details on both the computer and the app.

Copy photos to OneDrive like this:

  • Open File Explorer and go to the OneDrive folder.
  • If necessary, create a new folder in this folder with the name ‘Photos’. Then all your photos will be together from now on. Place the photos you want to see on your iPad here.
  • Wait for OneDrive to finish copying the photos to your account. You can see that from the picture in the System Tray. If a green line moves below, the program is running. If there is no green line, the program is finished.

Here’s how to view photos in OneDrive:

  • Grab the iPad and launch the OneDrive app.
  • Log in with your account.
  • Your folder opens. Tap it to see the content.
  • Shows a small view of your photos. Tap it to see the large version.

The photos can now always be viewed on the iPad.
