Start a favorite program super fast? Add the app to the Windows Taskbar.
Open programs quickly
By default, the Taskbar contains the Start menu, the search function and some shortcuts. Simply add your own programs here. The program then starts with a click on the icon. This way you can quickly open favorite or frequently used programs.
Put program on taskbar
- In Windows 10, click the Start button. In Windows 11, click the Start button > All apps.
- Right-click the program you want to add to the Taskbar.
- Hover over More.
- click on Pin to taskbar.
Change order of shortcuts
If necessary, adjust the order of the programs on the Taskbar:
- Click on a program in the Taskbar and hold down the mouse button.
- Move the mouse pointer to the desired spot in the Taskbar.
- The icons will jump. Release the mouse button when the icon is in the correct position.
Remove Program from Taskbar
Do you no longer use a program that often? Remove the shortcut of the program from the Taskbar like this:
- Right-click a program in the Taskbar.
- click on Unpin from taskbar.
The shortcut is no longer on the Taskbar. From now on, simply open the program via the Start menu.
