These are the 5 best iOS games July 2018

Also this summer, a lot of new games will be placed in the App Store. We’ve picked the best for you to just play at home or enjoy on vacation. This month you will enter some special castles, experience a stylish adventure without color and drift through curves like a pro. What are you going to play this month?

1. The Eyes of Ara

Do you like puzzle games in the style of The Room, or adventure games like Myst? Then The Eyes of Ara is really something for you. In the game, a boat takes you to a huge castle full of puzzles and secret rooms. By looking around carefully, collecting objects and solving riddles, you will get further and further in this special building.

Unique to The Eyes of Ara is that it was made almost entirely by one person. You wouldn’t say that, because the game is beautiful and extensive. The story isn’t really worth it in the end, but do you like an adventure that revolves around puzzles? Then you’ve come to the right place at The Eyes of Ara, even though the game is quite expensive.

2. Fracter

Fracter is a beautiful, atmospheric puzzle game. In this world everything is completely dark, except for your character and some lights. Touching such a light shatters your character across the world. Your goal is to find the different versions of yourself. You do this by solving puzzles with a focus on light. The puzzles get more and more difficult, especially because enemies are quickly introduced that you have to avoid.

3. Look, Your Loot!

In Look, Your Loot! are you a little mouse creeping into a dangerous dungeon. This dungeon consists of a grid of enemy cards, traps, potions and shields. Each turn, you step aside to a different card. Are you stepping on an enemy? Then the monster’s attack power is subtracted from your health points. If you step on a potion or shield, you gain life points or defense. In this way you have to get further and further to collect as many coins as possible.

4. Absolute Drift

Absolute Drift is a racing game, but not like you are used to. This game is not about driving as fast as possible, but about drifting and earning points. Absolute Drift is not an easy game to master, but if you fancy a challenge with a game that does it just that little bit differently, then Absolute Drift is worth it.

Hag’s Castle

Just like in The Eyes of Ara, you enter a special castle in Hag’s Castle. This time not to solve puzzles, but to defeat enemies and get as far as possible. Half the screen is reserved for the controls. Here you will see large arrows for walking, or pictures of actions such as pulling a lever or climbing a staircase. That makes for a smoothly playable game. The combat system is not ideal, but Hag’s Castle offers enough for a nice adventure.
