Apple loves to pick puzzle games for its free App of the Week promotion. With this, Apple puts an app in the spotlight by offering it for free for a week. Also this week it is that time again with Yankai’s Triangle. This game already had a nice place in our monthly list of favorite new iOS games of that month last November.
Puzzle games are a natural choice for Apple. These games are often the most accessible for all ages, but also offer enough challenge for people who persist and want to solve all the puzzles. That is certainly the case with Yankai’s Triangle.
This game is divided into playing fields full of triangles. By tapping on a triangle, it rotates. The goal is to rotate the different triangles on the screen until they form one large triangle. For this you look at the pattern on the shapes, because corners of the same color will stick together.
The game starts simple. Initially you only need to connect four triangles. However, the puzzles become more and more complex, so you have to zoom out the image to see all the pieces. Smaller triangles form larger triangles and those even larger triangles. Admittedly, the whole concept of turning triangles isn’t crazy exciting, but it works well and you lose any concept of time before you know it.
