Put an interesting web page in Safari’s Reading List with one click. Read the information easily at a quiet moment.

The Reading List is a handy feature of the Safari browser. In the Reading List, place articles, or web pages, that you want to read later. Handy if you are short on time when you come across interesting pages. Grab the Reading List at a later time and view the pages again. Maybe even on your other Apple device.

Add a webpage on the Mac or iPad/iPhone to the Reading List as follows:

  • Open Safari.
  • Surf to a web page, for example a page on seniorweb.nl.
  • Tap the Share icon at the bottom (iPad/iPhone) or top right (Mac) Add to Reading List iPad.
  • If necessary, swipe up a bit and tap Add to reading list (iPad/iPhone) or Add to Reading List (Mac).
  • You may be asked if you want to keep Reading List articles offline. Then you can also read them when there is no internet for a while. Choose Save automatically or Do not save automatically.

Safari saves the page to the Reading List.

Open a saved page like this:

  • Open Safari from the Dock or tap the app.
  • Click or tap the sidebar icon reading list open (Mac) or the book Safari iPad Reading List (iPad/iPhone).
  • click on Reading list (Mac) or tap the reading glasses icon Open reading list (iPad/iPhone).
  • All pages that you have saved in the Reading List are displayed in an overview.
  • If desired, click or tap unread (Mac) or Show unread (iPad/iPhone).
  • Click or tap the page you want to open.

Finished reading and want to remove the page from the Reading List? Do this like this:

  • In Safari, click or tap a book icon Open Safari's Reading List (Mac) Remove Article from Reading List (iPad/iPhone).
  • click on Reading list (Mac) or tap the reading glasses icon Open reading list (iPad/iPhone).
  • On Mac: Right-click an item in the Reading List and click Remove part.
  • On iPad/iPhone: Swipe from right to left on the item to delete. Tap on Delete > Ready.
