To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the YZF-R1, Yamaha has expanded the GYTR PRO Shop with a number of GYTR PRO performance parts developed in the World Superbike and World Endurance Championships. And released an R1 GYTR PRO 25th Anniversary, which will be produced in a limited edition of 25 units.

The range of GYTR PRO performance parts has been designed by the same engineers at Yamaha Motor Research & Development Europe (YMRE) who are also responsible for the development of the world championship winning R1 WorldSBK machine. This makes WorldSBK performance available to Yamaha customers for the first time.
The list includes a super strong and lightweight carbon fiber subframe designed to accommodate both a custom fuel tank with a lower center of gravity and the Magneti Marelli ECU.
An Öhlins FGR front fork and TTX rear shock with pneumatically adjustable spring preload provide a more predictable ride and the same level of suspension tuning available to Yamaha’s professional road racers.
A reverse bridge swingarm, developed specifically for Yamaha’s WorldSBK racing program, is designed to improve maximum lean angle and rear grip, while front and rear Brembo brakes provide ultimate stopping power.

The carbon fairing is super strong, lightweight and is designed together with the windshield for optimal aerodynamic performance. Also available is a GYTR PRO Electronic System (GPES) module, a state-of-the-art engine control and data collection package developed by YMRE in WorldSBK and the FIM Endurance World Championship.
The GPES is equipped with state-of-the-art electronic driver assistance systems, such as anti-wheelie, launch control, engine brake control, adjustable fuel delivery and traction control, and comes with a ready-to-use basic setup that provides an excellent starting point for fine-tuning on the track.
According to Yamaha, creating the range of parts has taken years of development at the highest level, and Yamaha WorldSBK riders Toprak Razgatlioglu and Andrea Locatelli, along with test rider and YART EWC rider Niccolò Canepa, have played a crucial role in its development.

As part of 25 years of R1, Yamaha Motor Europe has now commissioned an exclusive series of 25 R1 machines that will be hand built from the chassis down and feature the full range of GYTR PRO performance parts.
The R1 GYTR PRO 25th Anniversary will be assembled exclusively by experienced mechanics in one of the 25 GYTR PRO Shops in Europe. It will be immediately recognizable by the special commemorative colors of the carbon fairing.
According to Yamaha, the R1 GYTR PRO 25th Anniversary, which can only be ordered online, has specifications that are as close as possible to those of Yamaha’s world championship race bikes. Customers can also indicate at which GYTR Pro Shop the motorcycle should be prepared exactly according to their wishes.
However, interested customers will have to have a well-filled cut, the limited R1 has a price tag of no less than € 159,000, including VAT. In addition to a WorldSBK-spec R1, you also get a track day for that money, where a team of Yamaha technicians will assist you to adapt the R1 specifically to your riding style.
