€437 per horsepower
Land Rover recently pulled the curtain on the most powerful Range Rover ever: the Range Rover Sport SV. That absolute top version costs just under €437 per horsepower. Unfortunately for your wallet, the powerhouse has a whopping 635 of them.
At the end of May, Land Rover introduced the brand new Range Rover Sport SV. That top variant of the Range Rover Sport was endowed with a mild-hybrid 4.4 V8 from BMW, which produces no less than 635 hp. This makes it the strongest Range Rover ever and that naturally comes with a hefty price tag. AutoWeek can tell you what it should cost before Range Rover itself publicizes it.
The Range Rover Sport SV has a Dutch price of €277,307. €64,330 of this goes straight into the bpm treasury. This makes it more than 2.5 times as expensive as the cheapest Range Rover Sport, which we will return to later. The starting price of €277,307 applies to the Range Rover Sport SV Edition One Obsidian Black and Edition One Flux Silver. The first one is – its name gives it away – blacker than black. Both the body and almost all exterior details and the wheels are black. The Edition One Flux Silver is painted Flux Silver Gloss and appears less sinister, although this variant is also endowed with black accents. The most expensive Range Rover Sport SV is the Edition One Carbon Bronze. It costs no less than €296,850 and is made in the (matte) color – you don’t expect it – Carbon Bronze.
More Range Rover Sport
We have more prize news. The Range Rover Sport SV is not the only new variant. For example, the plug-in hybrid entry-level model P440e is now 20 hp stronger and has a new name: P460e. The version equipped with a 3.0 six-cylinder petrol engine stands for €104,573 in the order books and is several hundred euros cheaper than its predecessor. The P460e is available as S, as SE and as Dynamic SE and HSE.
The P460e isn’t the only revised plug-in hybrid variant of the Range Rover Sport. For example, the P510e is making way for the P550e, which, as its name implies, is 40 hp more powerful and now has a system power of 550 hp. The Range Rover Sport P550e is currently only available as an Autobiography and costs €147,439.
Prefer a diesel engine? You can too! The SUV is still available as a D300 with 300 hp mild hybrid 3.0 six-cylinder. This diesel is only available as a Dynamic SE and is on the price list for €144,113. The D300 is the only variant of the Range Rover whose price per horsepower (€480) is higher than the 635 hp Range Rover Sport SV.
