Realme has released its new top models: the GT2 and GT2 Pro. The Pro version comes with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and has a camera setup with a microscope lens that lets you take close-ups with 40x zoom. This is what you need to know about the flagships.
Realme GT2 (Pro)
Realme’s GT2 range has been officially presented and the brand immediately attracts attention with the design of its flagships. They come with a special plastic finish that makes users feel like they are touching paper.
According to Realme, the material used is more environmentally friendly and saves 2 kilograms of CO2 per kilogram of the material, compared to an ordinary plastic case. The GT2 ¨Pro is also not waterproof, the fingerprint scanner is located under the screen and it has a set of stereo speakers.
High-end LTPO display
Then when we look at the screen of the phone, we find only high-end specifications. It is a 6.7-inch panel with a QHD resolution and a variable refresh rate up to 120Hz. The screen supports HDR10+ and has a high peak brightness of up to 1400 nits. Realme has also protected the panel with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

Under the housing of the GT2 Pro we find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Qualcomm’s latest powerhouse. It comes in different variants in terms of working memory and storage. That goes from 8 GB / 128 GB to 12 GB / 512 GB. It is not known which models will soon be available in the Netherlands. The GT2 Pro works with a 5,000 mAh battery and can be charged with a 65W fast charger. It is fully charged in 33 minutes. The device does not support wireless charging and it runs on Android 12.
microscope camera
For the camera, Realme chose a three-lens setup. The main camera has a 50 MP Sony IMX766 sensor and comes with optical image stabilization. The wide-angle sensor is also a 50 MP camera and can take images at a wide angle of 150 degrees.
Finally, Realme is going to work for the first time with a microscope camera, a 3 MP sensor, with which you can zoom in on a subject up to 40 times. We saw such a camera before with the OPPO Find X3 Pro. Finally, on the front is a 32 MP selfie camera.

Realme GT
The regular GT2 comes with some differences from the Pro version. First of all, there is a slightly smaller 6.62 inch screen at 120Hz, but that works without a variable refresh rate. The panel also has a Full HD resolution. In addition, the phone has a Snapdragon 888 processor, but the battery and fast charger are the same compared to the Pro phone.
Realme has also opted for a simpler camera setup. A 50 MP main camera is assisted by an 8 MP wide-angle sensor and a 2 MP macro camera. So no microscope lens.
Prices and availability
The Realme GT2 Pro is available from 659 euros if we convert the Chinese prices and add VAT. The regular Realme GT2 is for sale from 454 euros. Although the actual prices in the Netherlands may still differ from these calculations. In China, the phones are available in four colors: Paper White, Paper Green, Steel Black and Titanium Blue.
