Red Bull team boss Horner believes that Max Verstappen has changed

Max Verstappen was untouchable last Formula 1 season and according to his team boss, experience played a major role in this. He believes that Verstappen, although the 26-year-old sometimes claims otherwise, has changed somewhat.

The speed was always there, but sometimes Max Verstappen wanted to go wrong due to certain actions on the track. Actions that sometimes caused him to miss out on valuable points. However, the Dutchman left almost nothing behind last season. Although he also had a good car, it is still an art to be as flawless as Verstappen from start to finish so often. His team boss, Christian Horner, thinks it is crystal clear that Verstappen is a better driver today than in his early days with the team.

Horner says according to Motorsport that Verstappen’s approach has changed somewhat over time. “He is certainly a bit more careful than early in his career. The way he approaches the races; he is no longer in that rush to get everything done in the first laps. He is building up a race more.” Verstappen himself often says that he has not actually changed that much and Horner certainly thinks that is the case when it comes to his attitude off the track. “He doesn’t like all the peripheral issues in Formula 1, but he has never liked that. He is just a racer who has both feet on the ground, he breathes racing.”
