For example, for buying apps on the iPad and iPhone or music from iTunes, there are various payment options. For example, people can link a credit card to an Apple ID or purchase credit via iDEAL. You can also put money on the ID with an App Store and iTunes gift card.
Code on receipt
There is a redemption code on a gift card. With the new receipts, you must first remove or scratch a label to see a 16-digit code. The code starts with an X and is required when redeeming.
Redeem Gift Card App Store & iTunes on iPad/iPhone
Follow the steps below to redeem an App Store and iTunes Gift Card via iPad/iPhone:
- Tap the app App Store.
- Tap at the bottom Today.
- Tap the round icon with your initials in the top right (in iOS 13 or earlier, this is a silhouette of a doll) or a profile picture of your choice.
- Tap on Redeem gift card or code.
- If prompted, enter your Apple ID password and tap Login.
- It is possible to enter the code manually, but it is easier to do this with the camera. To do this, tap Use camera.
- Hold the camera over the gift card.
- Tap on Ready.
Redeem Gift Card App Store & iTunes on Mac
To exchange a gift card on Mac:
- Open the app App Store.
- Click on your name at the bottom left.
- Click on the top right Redeem gift card.
- click on Login.
- Enter the password and click Login.
- Enter the 16-digit code on the back of the card if you have an App Store and iTunes Gift Card or Apple Music Gift Card.
- click on Change in.
