Remove suggested email address in Office Outlook

Do you get suggestions in Office Outlook when you type an email address? Remove the suggestions you don’t want.


The Office Outlook mail program tries to make it as easy as possible for the user. This also applies when composing a new e-mail. Suggestions therefore appear when entering e-mail addresses in the ‘To’ box (and CC and BCC). These are people to whom the e-mail can be sent. But some e-mail addresses you may not want among these suggestions anymore. For example, because it is an old e-mail address, you ever entered a wrong e-mail address or because it is a work address of someone you prefer to e-mail privately.

To remove an email address suggestion:

  • Open Office Outlook.
  • click on new e-mail.
  • Click in the input field behind ‘To’.
  • Type the first letters of the email address.
  • Once the wrong suggestion appears, hover over it.
  • Click on the appeared cross behind the e-mail address.

Next time, this suggestion will no longer appear. So only use this option if you never want to see the suggestion again.
