Renault Zoe new best-selling EV in Europe

The Renault Zoe was the best-selling electric car in Europe until June. The car thus replaces the Tesla Model 3, which moves to second place. This is evident from the manufacturers’ half-year figures, which have now been presented.

In the first six months, 37,540 copies of the Renault Zoe were registered in Europe, an increase of 50 percent. With that, the French car managed to pass the Tesla Model 3 as the best-selling electric car on the continent. The counter for the American brand was stuck at 32,300 pieces.

Especially the high subsidies for electric cars and factory discounts in countries such as Germany and France boosted the sale of the Zoe. In Germany you can even drive a Zoe for free, as it turned out recently.

The Volkswagen e-Golf and Nissan Leaf follow behind the Zoe and Model 3. The high rating of the e-Golf is special, because Volkswagen had actually already wanted to take the model out of production. However, with the start-up problems of the new ID.3, it was decided earlier this year to build the model longer, with success.

The fastest riser in recent months has been the Peugeot e-208, which has approached the top five by a few copies.
