Twice with a new family face
Cupra is about to introduce a brand new electric SUV: the Tavascan. The Cupra Tavascan launches a new family face that will eventually be poured over the existing models of the brand. Cupra has taken the facelifted Tavascan and Leon Sportstourer out in test suit on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife.
Cupra has three completely new models in stock, the first of which will be released very soon. We are talking about the electric Cupra Tavascan, which shares its basis with SUVs such as the Volkswagen ID4 and ID5 and Skoda Enyaq iV. In addition, the Spaniards will come in now and a few years with the Terramar and the electric ‘Urban Rebel’, a compact EV that will receive a final model name. Cupra gives its newcomers a new style that is characterized, among other things, by a relatively closed nose and lighting that is made up of several triangles. De Born, Formentor and, in fact, the somewhat older Leon will eventually be given a similar new face. The facelifted Cupra Formentor and Leon have now both been caught on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife.
During a major presentation, Cupra showed the first photos of the Terramar and Tavascan, among others, and during the same event, the brand quickly drove the facelifted Leon and Formentor onto the stage. So what the updated Cupras will look like is no longer a big surprise. Both the Leon and Formentor get new headlights with a new light signature. The two will receive a different grille and a modified front bumper that seems to remarkably close the front view of the two. That’s good news for the Leon. It thus distances itself more from the model of the same name that Seat sells in a braver form. There is no Seat equivalent to the Formentor, so that SUV is purely refined to keep it in line with the other Cupra models.
