Subtle innovation
The updated Volkswagen Golf is not yet available in all its capacities. Next week we will be introduced to the updated Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport.
The Volkswagen Golf is in the spotlight this year. Not only because the model has been around for fifty years, but also because the facelifted version of the current Golf was presented at the beginning of this year. The most intense versions of this will be revealed step by step and next Saturday it will be the turn of the Golf GTI Clubsport. We now get to see it in a psychedelic guise.
The significantly upgraded version, boosted to 348 hp, will participate in the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring on June 1.
You should not expect major changes, in the accompanying letter Volkswagen discusses, among other things, innovations that we already know from the milder facelifted Golfs. This includes new LED lighting, an illuminated logo and updated infotainment. There are new wheels specifically for the Golf GTI Clubsport, which, weighing only 8 kilos each, reduce the unsprung weight somewhat. There is no mention of a power spurt, so the Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport will probably soon be positioned neatly between the GTI (265 hp) and R (333 hp) with its 300 hp 2.0 TSI. The curtain will be removed on June 1.
