Research – New cars have more and more technology…that you never use

Cars have become moving computers, full of technology to help, entertain and keep the driver safe. But you are not waiting for all that technology at all, according to American research.

Research – New cars have more and more technology…that you never use

JD Power’s Tech Experience Index research shows that a lot of technology in new cars is ignored by users. More than half of the car owners surveyed say they never use a third of all advanced systems. They don’t see the point, is the answer to the why question.

Buying apps and new options digitally is not something car owners do

The front runner in uselessness is the digital shop that many new cars have. In it you can, for example, buy apps or new options. More than 60 percent never use the feature. Gesture control is also not very popular. That lets you control various functions – such as the volume of the sound system – with hand gestures in the air.

Useful technology do you find cameras and one-pedal driving

Other technology, on the other hand, is very popular. Modern car buyers can no longer do without the images of the 360 degree camera or reversing camera. The one-pedal driving of electric cars is also seen as extremely useful. This means that you have to brake much less, because the car itself brakes as soon as you take your foot off the power pedal.
