Instead of always wearing a physical museum card with you, you can now also make it digital. In the Museumkaart app you will now find the possibility to scan and activate the physical card for a digital card. As a result, you no longer need the physical card for a museum visit. The old card is also made invalid after this switch.
The card is bound by one device. That is awkward for a museum kid card, which may be kept by two parents. The makers indicate that the museum kid card can be linked to multiple devices later in this year.
Furthermore, the app acts as a guide. You can quickly see which exhibitions take place in the neighborhood. The catalog offers an overview of around 500 locations. Via the app you can also request an overview of museums and show them on a map. Ready for some inspiration? The app provides an overview of current exhibitions.
The app also has a commercial character: this way you can give a museum card to others via the app.
