Tidy is nice: that is probably one of the internal mottos of the Photoscope development team, at least when it comes to photos. In practice, you often have a collection of hundreds of duplicate photos. Cleaning this up is not an attractive prospect for everyone: Photoscope helps you with this.

Photoscope lets you view your photos from a central environment and helps you find duplicate photos. The app assumes that you have a series of photos and that you usually want to keep one of them. Photoscope helps you with this and then lets you easily share the photo with others. The rest of the photos are deleted. A series therefore consists of at least two photos. If you cannot yet choose between multiple photos from the same series, you can mark them as ‘candidate’. At the bottom of the screen you will see the photos that you do not prefer. Photos that are eventually deleted are temporarily placed in the folder with recently deleted items and are permanently deleted after thirty days.

Fun detail: the app is also available for visionOS, Apple’s new operating system for the recently introduced smart glasses. You can use the app for free. The makers are also working on a desktop version, which will most likely only be released on Mac.
