The AirCard Pro is therefore a direct rival to Apple’s AirTag. Many users have tried unsuccessfully to place an AirTag in their wallet due to its round shape and thickness. In recent weeks we have extensively tested the ultra-thin Aircard Pro and we share our findings in this review.
AirCard Pro tracker
The AirCard Pro was developed by RollingSquare, a now familiar name to many Apple fans. The company regularly launches successful Kickstarter campaigns for new products, such as the versatile InCharge cables, the Hyphen headphones and the Edge stands. Their latest invention is the AirCard, which is linked to Apple’s Find My network.
The Find My app on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac lets you not only locate Apple devices, but also find other compatible items, even when they’re offline. This is possible thanks to Apple’s Find My network, which consists of countless Apple devices that communicate with each other securely and anonymously. Apple has made its Find My app and associated network accessible to third-party accessories. This allows companies like RollingSquare to leverage Find My’s features and network.
AirCard Pro specifications
The AirCard Pro has a CNC aluminum housing and a semi-transparent part of G10 epoxy fiber glass on the top. This ensures a durable yet slim design and also enables a smooth Bluetooth connection. Additionally, the device offers RFID protection and has an IP66 rating, meaning it is water resistant.
The AirCard has an attractive, futuristic design, where the tempered glass allows you to admire the internal components of the device.
With dimensions of 85.4 mm by 54 mm and a thickness of 2.2 mm, the design is astonishing. For comparison: a standard credit card has a thickness of 0.76 mm (without any punched letters and numbers). Despite its robust design, the AirCard Pro weighs only 18 grams.
The tracker can be located via Bluetooth with a range of more than 60 meters. You can also play a sound on the AirCard that can reach up to 114 decibels. This is quite loud, but keep in mind that the sound may be muffled if the AirCard is in a wallet.
Equipped with rechargeable battery
The AirCard Pro is equipped with an ultra-thin, wirelessly rechargeable 220mAh lithium battery, which provides 14 months of battery life whether you use it with an iPhone or an Android device. When the battery runs out, simply place the AirCard Pro on a Qi wireless charger and wait about 2 hours until it is fully charged and ready to track your valuables again.
QR and NFC for sharing contact details

Differences with the AirTag
Although the AirTag and the AirCard Pro are different products, many Apple users probably want to know the differences between the two. After all, both use the Find My network and have a comparable price. Yet there are some important differences.
We only focus on the differences that are relevant for wallet use. The AirTag has a round shape and is quite large to place between your bank cards, with a thickness of 8 mm. In contrast, RollingSquare’s AirCard is much flatter, with only 2.2 mm thickness.
Apple’s AirTag has a U1 chip that supports ultra-wideband, which allows you to determine the exact location with an iPhone that also has such a chip. The AirCard, on the other hand, can only be located via Bluetooth and sound.
How AirCard works
Pairing the AirCard Pro is very easy. Open the Find My app and go to the ‘Objects’ tab to add a new item. Then choose ‘Other supported object’. Press and hold the power button until you hear a sound and follow the instructions in the app. After this, you can locate the AirCard via the Find My app and the Find My network. The AirCard offers the same functions as an AirTag.

Find AirCard
Have you lost an item with the AirCard Pro? Then you can try to find it via the Find My app. In this app you will find the last known location and you can navigate to that place using the ‘Search’ function.
As with the AirTag and all other Apple products, you need the luck to have the AirCard in close proximity to other Apple devices. Only then can the device exchange data anonymously and its location can be retrieved. Fortunately, since iOS/iPadOS 15, you will immediately receive a notification if the connection to the tracker is lost.
When you are within 200 feet of the AirCard, you can usually reconnect and play a sound. Thanks to the powerful speaker, this sound is clearly audible, although this also depends on the thickness of your wallet. I personally use a Secrid wallet with an aluminum housing to prevent RFID chips from being read. However, the Bluetooth connection remains strong enough despite this protection.

If you’re looking for a smart tracker for your wallet, RollingSquare’s AirCard Pro is an excellent option. This tracker offers a good alternative to the AirTag and you get all the benefits of Find My. The design of the AirCard is especially interesting because it resembles a credit card and is therefore easy to store.
The device is absolutely not boring; the semi-transparent part allows you to view the internal components. Although the AirCard doesn’t have ultra wideband technology like the AirTag, you won’t really miss it. After all, the ultra wideband has a limited range of only 15 meters. Thanks to the AirCard’s loud speaker, you can hear it clearly and easily find it when you are nearby.
One of the biggest advantages of the AirCard Pro is that you can charge it with a standard Qi charger. However, you only need to charge it once a year.
