The ink of the undoubtedly beautifully executed brochure of the new Rolls-Royce Ghost is not yet dry, when Rolls-Royce comes up with an extended version of the top sedan. The stretched Ghost extends for a distance of no less than 5.72 meters.
Just like the previous generation, an extended version of the brand-new Ghost presented at the beginning of September, the so-called Ghost Extended. Techzle was previously able to show the first footage of that new Ghost Extended. Now Rolls-Royce has also pulled the curtain off the brave Briton.
The fact that Rolls-Royce does not quickly deviate from old customs is evident from the fact that the completely new Ghost Extended, like the extended version of its predecessor, is 17 centimeters longer in total than its ‘regular’ shorter brother. The car length thus increases to 5.72 meters, which means that the ‘short’ version of big brother Phantom is only 4 centimeters longer. The wheelbase, like the car length, increases by 17 centimeters. This brings the total distance between the front and rear axle to 3.3 meters. The 17 extra centimeters fully benefit the occupants in the generous rear seat. The rear doors have been extended to somewhat camouflage the extra inches.
We already mentioned the generous rear seat, a two-seat unit that can optionally be exchanged for two Serenity Seats, huge armchairs that can also be reclined. Rolls-Royce places a champagne cooler between the two rear seats. The Ghost includes MEPS, the Micro-Environment Purification System which is in fact a more extensive air filter system for the interior. Nothing else changes on the mighty V12, which means that the Rolls has a twelve-cylinder with 6.75 liters that delivers 571 hp and 850 Nm. With this, it reaches 100 km / h in 4.8 seconds. The top speed is limited to 250 km / h. The average fuel consumption is not tender. The 2,530 kg colossus consumes an average of 15.3-15.7 l / 100 km. But whether that is relevant in this segment …
