A new budget phone has been proposed by Samsung: the Galaxy A03. The device has a relatively large 5,000 mAh battery, a 6.5-inch screen and a dual camera on the back. We expect a price between 150 and 200 euros.

Samsung’s Galaxy A series is in fact very diverse, as we see both phones from the high mid-range and devices up to the lowest price range. The new A03 clearly belongs to the second group, because it is a new budget smartphone that wants to score with an accessible price tag.
Like more phones from the low segment, Samsung can also boast a large screen of 6.5 inches. It’s like the epitome of the statement: “a lot of phone for little money”. Still, it is of course an LCD panel with an HD resolution and there is a U-shaped notch. The plastic housing has room for a 3.5 mm audio jack and a microSD slot, but there is no fingerprint scanner in the lot.
48 MP camera and sturdy battery
The performance of this Galaxy A03 comes from an unspecified 1.6 GHz octa-core processor. The phone will come in options with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, but there are also variants with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of storage. The phone has a fairly large 5,000 mAh battery, but it is not yet known whether the device will be charged via micro-usb like its predecessor or a more modern USB-c port.
The camera of the Galaxy A03 consists of two lenses on the back. There is a new 48MP camera sensor assisted by a 2MP depth camera. On the front is another 5 MP selfie camera. Samsung is releasing a more stripped-down version of the Galaxy A03 – the Galaxy A03 Core – and the main differences can be found in the area of the camera. The Core version only has an 8 MP sensor on the back and also only 2 GB of RAM.
Prices and availability
Samsung has not yet announced when its youngest budget devices will be available and whether or not they will come to the Netherlands and Belgium. The colors in which the phone is made are: red, blue and black. For the price range, we should probably look at an amount between 150 and 200 euros, but the question is also which storage variants and colors will appear with us.
