Samsung has quietly put the product pages for its Galaxy M52 5G live in Germany and Poland. We get to see the details about the midrange device that shows similarities with the A52, but only the price is not yet known.
Samsung Galaxy M52 5G
Samsung has launched a new smartphone from the M series. That is the series that offers strong specifications in exchange for money, and consists of devices that are mainly sold online. Information about the Galaxy M52 5G had been leaked before, but now it looks like the phone has just been announced. He suddenly appeared on the Polish and German Samsung site.
If we take a look at the specifications, we notice that it will have a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen. So the panel is slightly larger compared to the Galaxy A52, but it is the same size as the screen of the new A52s. We see a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and a notch in the middle.
No 3.5mm audio jack
It is also striking that the smartphone does not have a 3.5 mm audio jack, and it is the first time that Samsung has opted for this with a middle class. The question is whether we will see this more often with telephones in the coming year. Samsung has further reduced the price by placing the fingerprint scanner on the side, as part of the power button.
The manufacturer does not officially announce anything about the type of processor, but we know that it is a 2.4 Ghz chipset that supports 5G. So that seems to confirm the previous rumors about the use of the Snapdragon 778G 5G. The brand also used that processor with its A52s. The phone only comes with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, but you can expand that storage via microSD. The phone will probably work with Android 11 and One UI 3.1, but Samsung has not yet announced anything about it on its website.
Bigger battery
A striking fact is that this smartphone has a larger battery than the Galaxy A52, the A52 5G or the A52s. It is a 5000 mAh model that you can charge with the 25 watt charger. You have to buy the charger separately, because it comes with a 15-watt charger in the box.
The camera setup of the Samsung Galaxy M52 is very similar to that of the Galaxy A phones, but one lens was deleted. The phone comes with a 64 MP main camera, a 12 MP wide-angle camera and a 5 MP macro camera. All phones bearing the ‘Galaxy A52’ name also had a 5MP depth camera to take portrait photos. The Galaxy M52 also gets the same 32 MP camera as the other phones.
Price and availability
There are still many questions about this chapter, because even in Poland and Germany, where the phone is already on the web shop, there are no prices to be found. We also do not know when the smartphone will be delivered, only that it will appear in three colors: black, white and light blue. Androidworld has asked Samsung for more clarification about prices and availability. We’ll update this article as soon as we know more.
Because it is a device from the Galaxy M series and because Samsung has cut back on certain areas with this phone, we suspect that it will be cheaper than the Galaxy A52 devices.
