Samsung has started rolling out the first software update for the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE. The update will be available gradually and fixes several security vulnerabilities.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is Samsung’s most recent top smartphone. The device, which is the successor of the well-reviewed Galaxy S20 FE, is a variant of the Samsung Galaxy S21 and has many similarities with this device. However, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE did not have a happy start. Due to a worldwide chip shortage, the smartphone was announced almost six months later, and in addition, the device not only resembles the ‘normal’ S21 in terms of specifications, but unfortunately also in terms of suggested retail price. In our poll there was therefore mixed response to the arrival of the device.

Update and installation
The new software update has the Firm Version: G990EXXU1BUL5 and is currently available in Thailand. However, the update is expected to roll out in other countries soon. The exact date on which it will be the turn of the Netherlands and Belgium is not yet known. The update brings a January security patch and will reportedly fix several security vulnerabilities and also bring several improvements.
As soon as the update is available, it will be visible in the notifications and in the notification bar. You can also manually check for the update. You do this by going to Settings to go, then on
software update -> Download and install to tap.
