Last week, 3D renders surfaced of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, the as yet unannounced flagship from Samsung that will make its appearance early next year. Now there are new reports about the appearance of the camera island on the back of the phone.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra
Early next year, Samsung will announce the Galaxy S22, the Galaxy S22 Plus and the Galaxy S22 Ultra, three high-end smartphones that many people are already looking forward to. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is the most expensive model in the series and we have seen a lot of rumors about it, from press images to photos ‘in the wild’ and from leaked specifications to accessories. Last week we saw renders of this phone in different colors and a two-piece camera setup with space between the left and right parts. According to a source of LetsGoDigital the camera system will look different after all: “I am 100% convinced that the camera system will look different than is currently thought.” It would be a camera system with a water drop design, a term that we know from the LG Velvet, and also resembles it.

The website has therefore taken the information from this source and created new digital images of the camera system on the S22 Ultra. The P-shaped camera island we saw last week gives way to a row of three and a row of two lenses. That is similar to the setup that can be found on the back of the Galaxy A32. The lenses on the Galaxy S22 Ultra do protrude a little further from the housing. That’s because the phone has telephoto cameras.

By omitting the camera island, Samsung can save on weight, so that the device does not become heavier than the S21 Ultra weighing 228 grams. Then it is also necessary since the S Pen on this model would get a place in the housing.
