The new year has started again and that is traditionally the moment when Samsung announces new smartphones. The Korean company will soon be launching the new one Samsung S25 series with the focus again on Galaxy AI.
For Apple, the iPhone 16 (Pro) is the most important product they are currently selling, for Samsung this will undoubtedly be the Galaxy S25 series. The flagship has several similarities with the iPhone, time for an overview.
Samsung S25 or iPhone 16?
As tech enthusiasts, it’s always interesting to see what Samsung has in store for their new smartphones. Both Samsung and Apple look to each other to develop the ultimate smartphone. You see that Samsung adopts certain iPhone 16 aspects with the S25 series, something that Apple has of course also done for the iPhone.
Like last year, the Galaxy is available in three sizes: the 6.2-inch standard size, a larger 6.7-inch Plus, and an uber-premium Galaxy S25 Ultra with a 6.9-inch display. For comparison, the iPhone 16 series is available in the standard 6.1-inch model, a 6.7-inch Plus version, the 6.3-inch Pro and a 6.9-inch Pro Max version.
Because comparing apples and oranges is very difficult, we are not going to list the differences in detail. Both smartphones excel in their own way and both devices are equal. Nowadays, the ecosystem in which the consumer is located is the most important. Switching to another platform is unfortunately difficult.
You can safely switch from an iPhone to an Android phone, but this does have consequences. For example, you have to re-purchase apps, transfer your cloud photo library and files, etc. This means you won’t be switching as quickly. But if you are not satisfied with your current smartphone, the switch is worth it and the choice between a Galaxy S25 and iPhone 16 is almost the same.
Samsung is also fully committed to AI this year (Artificial Intelligence), also called artificial intelligence. With Galaxy AI, Samsung tries to persuade buyers to opt for the new models. For example, if you call someone in a different language, the AI ​​can translate that conversation live for you (not yet into Dutch). The keyboard contains its own AI software that helps you correct or better format your text. Furthermore, Galaxy AI can tell you what is in the photo (similar to Apple’s Visual Intelligence) and photos become even better thanks to artificial intelligence.

Finally, we discuss some striking similarities. So you can say that both series are equal in terms of processor, speed, storage and battery life. Both the S25 series and iPhone 16 series have a powerful processor.
