Today, Samsung is launching its new energy-efficient and extra wide fridge-freezer combination with EU energy label A. The product is already particularly economical, but even more energy can be saved via SmartThings Energy. It is even 55.9% more economical than its predecessor.
A number of new products were launched at ‘Welcome to BESPOKE AI’, a global launch event by Samsung on April 3 in Paris. For example, Samsung announced more energy-efficient AI washing machines that are more efficient than class A and with greater ease of use. Samsung also unveiled a new energy-efficient and extra wide fridge-freezer combination.
55.9% lower energy consumption
The extra wide fridge-freezer combination has EU energy label ‘A’. And it has to be, according to Moohyung Lee, EVP and head of the Customer Experience Team of Digital Appliances (DA) Business at Samsung: “Energy efficiency is more important than ever for consumers and that is why Samsung is launching a new model that fits the times. ”
It is the first time that an extra wide fridge-freezer combination from Samsung has received a European energy label ‘A’. Compared to the previous extra wide model [1] energy consumption is no less than 55.9% lower. Especially the new AI Inverter Compressor [2] plays an important role in achieving the European A label.
Smart technology
The smart AI Inverter Compressor is more efficient thanks to advanced technology. By increasing the size of the rotating parts, the compressor has more power [3], allowing him to work longer with less energy. In addition, the compressor makes up to five times less noise than older models [4].
With the energy saving mode in SmartThings Energy [5] energy consumption can be reduced by another 15% [6]. Users can easily view energy consumption, and an estimate of the monthly electricity bill is even made. If consumption exceeds this estimate, SmartThings Energy can proactively save energy [7]. In addition, it can optimize the compressor speed and defrosting frequency based on usage and environment, keeping food fresher for longer.
SpaceMax and Gentle Lighting
To further utilize the benefits of a wide refrigerator, Samsung has applied its SpaceMax technology. The refrigerator has thin walls with good insulation so that more can fit in, while the temperature remains constant. The extra storage space does not affect the exterior of the refrigerator, which provides more space in your home.
The refrigerator has a sleek design, with a flat door with recessed handle, which makes it fit nicely in modern homes. Gentle Lighting regulates the brightness of the light and prevents glare.
Price and availability
The energy efficient extra wide fridge-freezer will be available in three different models (538L, 508L and 458L – depending on region) and will be launched in Europe, CIS, Middle East, Latin America, South East Asia, Canada and Africa.
The refrigerator is expected to be available in Europe from April, prices are not yet known.
