Samsung has announced the introduction of One UI 7 from the beginning of April 2025. According to Samsung, this new user environment has a beautiful new design and AI-controlled improvements that simplify everyday tasks and therefore make it easier for you.
Nowadays it is on smartphones, tablets and even TVs to set up these devices for you as much as possible or to personalize. That is also the intention of Samsung’s ‘peel’ One UI 7 about which we already report. This layer on top of Android with all kinds of additions from Samsung is available from the beginning of April (1) and, according to Samsung, has a daring new design for more personalization and control over the user experience.
New design for more personalization options
One UI 7 has a simple design that Galaxy users must offer a streamlined and coherent experience. Thanks to a simplified home screen, renewed One UI-widgets and the lock screen, users can intuitively adjust their devices.
For even more convenience, the Now Bar (2) shows the most important updates in real time, directly on the lock screen. For example, during a morning of running, Galaxy users can easily check their progress, and see which number is played in their Galaxy Buds – all with a simple swipe, without unlocking the phone.
Smart AI functions
One UI 7 introduces AI-controlled experiences that should help users to stay productive. For example, users with Galaxy AI can simplify everyday tasks and they have to switch between apps less often. AI Select (3) advises intuitively by understanding the context. For example, a user can easily wipe the Edge panel and tap the ‘AI Select’ icon while watching a video to save the video as a GIF file. With Writing Assist (4), users can easily summarize content or make it up automatically where texts can be selected.
Furthermore, with One onion 7 you can also perform simple creative operations. Drawing Assist (5) brings ideas to life with more than one input method, including combinations of text, images or sketches. And Audio Eraser (6) must make advanced editing options accessible to everyone, by insulating categories of sounds and removing unwanted noise in videos.
Thanks to the further integration with Google Gemini (7), operating the device is just as easy as talking to a friend. Press the side button for a long time and say: “Find Italian, pet -friendly restaurants with seats outside”. Gemini goes looking immediately and immediately shows recommendations.
Natural Language Search (8) is extended to settings, making it easier to adjust preferences. Users can just go to settings and say “my eyes feel tired”. Recommended options are shown very quickly, such as adjusting the brightness or switching on the EYE Comfort-shield.
