Samsung with energy-efficient products at IFA 2024

The IFA, the largest consumer electronics fair in Europe, will be held in Berlin in the coming days. Samsung has been very conspicuous there for many years, with a press conference and a large exhibition hall in the Cube. Of course, new products will also be presented there, including energy-efficient household appliances for Europe. BESPOKE AI washing machine
Samsung’s most striking energy-efficient appliance at IFA 2024 is the BESPOKE AI washing machine. This model, which will not be released until next year, [4]consumes up to 55% less energy than required for an A rating [5]. Like the A-40% model, which was launched earlier this year, this model also uses Samsung’s technologies for extra energy savings.
Chief among these technologies is Bubble Shot, which draws soapy water through the circulation pump and sprays it on top of the clothes in the drum. This helps the laundry soak more easily and ensures that the detergent is evenly distributed throughout the clothes. This is combined with Ecobubble and algorithms for extra energy efficiency.
Another notable addition to the BESPOKE AI washing machine is AI Home [6]This 7-inch wide LCD touchscreen is a control screen that allows users to quickly select their washing program and receive customized advice [7].

Bespoke AI washer dryer combination
Also on display at IFA will be the Bespoke AI washer dryer, which will also not be released in Europe until next year. This model is a washer and dryer in one, meaning users do not have to move laundry to the dryer after washing. The combo distinguishes itself with an A rating for the entire wash and dry cycle [8]with an A-20% for washing [9].
Drying efficiency in particular has been improved. With Heatpump Drying, clothes dry quickly, gently and effectively at low temperatures. In addition, specially designed air channels ensure better air circulation, which means that heat energy is reused more efficiently.
This model also features Bubble Shot technology, which ensures an energy-efficient wash cycle. The entire wash cycle of the combo is 20% more efficient than the minimum requirements for energy class A.

Bespoke dishwasher
Also the Bespoke dishwasher [10] with extra energy efficiency will be presented at IFA 2024. According to Samsung, this model looks stylish with the Kitchen Fit Sliding Door [11]which fits in nicely with the kitchen furniture, but also saves up to 10% more energy than is required for an A-label.
WaterJet Clean and the Active Fan Dry system provide a noticeable improvement in efficiency. WaterJet Clean provides intensive cleaning from every angle, with the rotating double wash arms of the All-in-one Sump module [12]. The unique water flow system uses only 7.9 liters [13] water ― much less than traditional models [14] ― without affecting performance.
The Active Fan Dry system [15] provides better air circulation, which reduces energy consumption. Two fans blow gentle air along the walls of the drum during drying. This air helps moisture evaporate faster, which reduces the amount of stored heat required from the rinse water and reduces the amount of energy used to heat the rinse water.

Extra energy savings with SmartThings
The new product line also supports the SmartThings AI Energy Mode [16]. With devices connected to SmartThings, users can check daily, weekly, and monthly energy consumption. And if the estimated monthly energy bill is higher than planned, users can enable AI Energy Mode with the SmartThings app. With AI Energy Mode cycles, the BESPOKE AI washing machine saves up to 70% energy [17]according to Samsung. The Bespoke AI washer dryer saves up to 60% energy when washing and up to 30% when drying [18]. And the dishwasher uses up to 21% less energy with the Pots & Pans program [19].
