On an Android smartphone or tablet, use the search bar to quickly find a specific app among a whole collection of apps.
Quickly open an app
A phone or tablet can quickly become full of all kinds of apps. It can therefore sometimes be difficult to find a certain app. Want to open an app quickly? Then use the search bar on an Android device.
- For an Android 8.0 device, swipe from the bottom up on the screen. For a device with Android 7.0, tap apps.
- A search bar appears at the top of the screen. Tap in it Find phone (Android 8.0) or Search for apps (Android 7.0).
- Type the name of the app.
- Suggestions appear below the search bar. Tap the appropriate app to open it.
