Seat tests 15,000 employees before factory reopening

Seat confirms that it will open its Spanish factories again on Monday, April 27. Before employees are allowed to work, they must undergo a test to see whether they are actually able to work.

Rumors were already circulating, but Seat is now confirming that the factories in Barcelona and Martorell are opening again. As with other manufacturers, production is initially started slowly. By mid-June, all production should be back to full speed.

Next Monday, Seat will begin testing all personnel for COVID-19. There is room to test 3,000 employees every week. People who test negative can then get back to work in small work shifts, for example with the production of the Ibiza or brand new Leon. Measures have also been taken within the factories to ensure that employees do not come into contact with each other.
